Hollyoaks actress Roxanne McKee is the new Impulse ambassador as part of their Romance Revolution campaign, this summer.

Impulse have teamed up with Roxanne to highlight how British men are less romantic than ever before and now women are fed up of waiting for some romance in their lives.

They're encouraging women to take romance into their own hands instead of sitting around waiting, like an outdated Jane Austen heroine!

Q: Why do you think romance is dead?
A: Well everyone is so busy nowadays that often it's hard to find time for romance. Plus we're all taught to be independent. Often relationships end up being filtered through email and text messages, instead of good, old-fashioned dates.

Q: How would you encourage a man to be more romantic?
A: Well I think it's not just the responsibility of men. We should all make more of an effort. Women should be able to take the bull by the horns and kiss it!

Q: What are your top tips for introducing more romance in a relationship?
A: Women can make the first move. Why wouldn't a man feel flattered if a woman took him out for dinner or made a special effort? It could even be just a small thing like buying him a coffee or ringing to say 'I love you'. It's not like you have to write someone a poem; just a small gesture will do.

Q: You've been voted the Sexiest Female in soap, how does that make you feel?
A: It's incredibly flattering! I don't always feel especially sexy though, especially first thing in the morning. I have body issues, just like everyone, but I prefer to just try not to think about it.

Q: You change your hairstyle and colour a lot – which is your favourite look?
A: I really like having to change it a lot for Hollyoaks. At the moment I'm back to my own, natural hair colour – dark brown. I'm happy with that, it's nice to be natural!

Q: What do you use to keep your hair looking good?
A: I love Andrew Collinge conditioner – I always slather my hair with conditioner. I also use Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner.
