Love It or Hate It? Mischa Barton's Vanity Style

Actress Mischa Barton looked beautiful at the Vanity Fair and Burberry party to celebrate the Vanity Fair Portraits in Los Angeles yesterday. Her skin was luminous with a pale matte base and faintly pink blush on the apples of her cheeks. Mischa plumped for a neutral lip colour to keep the focus on the dark, kohl-rimmed eyes. I love how her eye makeup is softly smoky by using deep charcoal and black. Mischa wore her hair down and gave it a slightly tousled effect with plenty of texture. A side swept parting added volume at the crown, while the varying tones of blonde kept the look sun kissed. What do you think of her style?

Jordan has never been a particularly big fan of Victoria Beckham so I bet she had a little chuckle to herself this morning when she read the newspaper following reports that Mischa Barton is not exactly impressed by Victoria Beckham's style.

Speaking to The Sun Mischa stated, "Posh doesn't strike me as particularly stylish. I don't think she's a good example of British style at all."

She also went on to explain her own style adding, "I don't dress for anybody else, and I think the reason people like my style is that I do my own thing."

I'm not sure why Mischa has suddenly decided to attack Victoria and there are no reports of a comeback just yet but Ms Beckham always leaves people divided. What do you think of Mischa's comments, do you agree?

Actress and front row fashionista Mischa Barton was looking glowing at the Vanity Fair party at Milan Fashion Week. She went for a natural makeup look, with a rose coloured lip gloss, black lined eyes and peachy blush. Her skin always looks flawless but I thought she looked slightly tired in this picture. It could be the social whirl of Fashion Week, but I also think she suits fresher shades and pink near the eyes is always dangerous. Her bouffant hair had shades of Helena Bonham Carter but I actually liked that Mischa was experimenting with candyfloss hair styles and the messy, slightly matte texture that is so on-trend right now. What do you think of this look? Source

This brave ensemble that Mischa Barton wore over the weekend to the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust Gift of Life IX Fundraising Ball has left us divided here at Sugar UK HQ. Although Pop UK and I agree that the floaty dress is nice we're yet to agree on the headband. I like the luxe-hippy feel to the look but Pop UK isn't so sure. However, this becomes irrelevant when you realise that Mischa teamed this dress with heavy boots! I'm sorry Mischa but you leave me with little choice but to add you to the How would YOU wear it hall of shame! Do you have any advice for the actress?

At the Vivienne Westwood show at London Fashion Week, front row stars Dita von Teese, Jaime Winstone and Myleene Klass joined Kate Moss and a smoky-eyed Mischa Barton for the after party. Mischa played up her eyes with layers of charcoal, grey and black shadow. Add black liner and plenty of mascara and you've got a failsafe fashion party look. She kept her lips nude and the rest of her makeup simple to show off her eyes. Always on-trend, Mischa worked her front row credentials with dark nails. A burgundy red polish looked striking against her pale skin and black outfit. She cleverly showed off her manicure with a small snakeskin clutch. What do you think of her look? Source

Fab Field Day: Temperley London

This week saw the return of British label Temperley London to London Fashion Week. To mark the occasion I decided to take a trip down to their newly painted London store in Notting Hill to see what we might expect from the label for Autumn/Winter. Mischa Barton has already shown her allegiance to the brand wearing one of their pieces to the Temperley show and another to the Fashion for Relief show where she wore the long carousel dress (£890).

The store is truly proud of it's heritage for this Autumn as the outside is adorned with a Union Jack flag and the inside is decorated with red, white and blue bunting. They were also offering a very English spread of tea and fruit scones! I fell in love with a cute apple purse (£425) and also for a black and white striped maxi dress (£1650). There's no denying that Mischa Barton would look good which ever way she dyed her hair. She suits both blonde and brunette. She has been talking about her changing hair colour to Cosmopolitan.co.uk. explaining why she is currently blonde, "It's just perfect and handy for the summer." However, don't get too used to it! Mischa Barton Handbag Line Unveiled

In June we told you about Mischa Barton's handbag line which has just hit stores in the UK. A few of the bags which Mischa has designed are available exclusively now at ASOS.

She says she was introduced to the online store by her sister, speaking to the ASOS magazine she said, “My sister is really into ASOS.com and told me all about it. I didn’t want the bags to be available everywhere - I think it makes them more special this way."

The bags are also available at Debenhams, Fenwicks and John Lewis. I like the embossed vintage style bag but £150 it's quite pricey.

Mischa Barton certainly looks radiant, in the front row of the Hugo by Hugo Boss Fashion Show, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, in Berlin.I love her full fringe and glowing complexion, but wasn't too sure about her choice of outfit.While I applaud her studded belt – very next season – I'm not so sure about the strapless dress and numerous silver bangles.Mischa normally looks edgier than this, and less flesh-flashing – although she definitely has the figure for it. What do you think of this look on her?

Last month Fab US revealed Mischa Barton's plans for a handbag line. The bags are due to hit stores on 2nd July, she has been busy promoting the line including an interview with The Telegraph. She explained that she'd had offers to do a clothing line and a fragrance but that she prefered to start with something small. "I love anything I don't have to try on because I'm a bit lazy, so handbags are great for me. But I'm not one of those people who sit around counting them."

Despite saying this, she is rarely seen without an it-bag on her arm but she confesses they are usually gifts. "Oh, I've just got this Fendi that is a fantastic collector's piece. It's like a side satchel with a hand-embroidered, 1960s-style, rainbow flower-motif thing…I can't really explain it, but they told me it was an $8,000 bag and I was like, that's a lot of money for a bag. I was kind of tempted to put it on eBay, hahaha."

Her range of bags, that will be available from John Lewis, Fenwicks and Debenhams will range in price from £25 to £170 (slightly more reasonable!) but she wouldn't carry her dog around in it. "No! I'd never do that! Anyway, they are both too big. One of them is, like, 12 pounds."

On Our Radar: Mischa Barton Turns Handbag Designer Besides being busy making stops at Cannes and Britain's Best 2008, Mischa Barton has also been passing time by creating her own handbag collection. As of July 2nd, Londoners can hit up John Lewis, Debenhams and Fenwicks stores to pick up one of Mischa's vintage-inspired bags, made from snakeskin, leather, fabric, and finished with a flower logo designed by the actress.

As awards season continues the Britain's Best 2008 awards took place in London honouring outstanding Britons in business, art, television, music, film, and sport. The Marchesa duo Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman were there to collect a Business Award from Mischa Barton.

There has been some controversy surrounding them recently as their roles within Marchesa have reportedly changed. The British born design duo are big on both sides of the Atlantic with stockists including Selfridges, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.

One of the things I really like about Mischa Barton is that she's not afraid to try something different, even if it is a little bit risky. She attended the Candie's Foundation Event to Prevent Benefit earlier in the week sporting a pair of high waisted chinos.
